Joe's Thoughts : Can you hear that?

Joe's Thoughts

"...reduce the bloating that is quickly and quietly consuming our lifestyle, our heritage, and our freedom."

It is called the sound of silence. The lack of noise traveling through the inner ear creates this glorious sensation. Also caused by the election season coming to a halt. Bye bye!

I hope you exercised your right to vote, or not. This is one of the hidden pleasures of our nation's freedom. You can be wealthy or poor, articulate or illiterate, male or female, black or white, religious or atheistic, and you still get to participate in our system of government. If you choose to. We take our system for granted, thinking that the whole world functions the same way, which it does not.

It is time to look forward to 3 years of productivity from the administration. This, of course, is the ideal situation. With the second term the President can focus more on finishing things that he may have lost sight of. Taking the efforts of re-election (ie: campaigning) out of the equation makes this a little easier.

So I decided to create and share my personal wish list for things that I would like to see W accomplish in his second term:
1).Continue to cut taxes and cut government spending.
2).Stop feeding the public school beast, it is way beyond saving.
3).Get the government out of the health care industry.
4).Disband/remove some of the wasteful federal regulators (for instance, the FCC).
5).Take the time to re-read The Bill of Rights. Some of what occurred during the first term is in direct conflict with its foundation.

All the above items would help to reduce the bloating that is quickly and quietly consuming our lifestyle, our heritage, and our freedom.

Most of us believe that the Democrats are THE party of big government, but recent history doesn't validate this myth. The Republicans have shown just as large a propensity to grow government's size and control, which is very troublesome. The party that we have looked to in hopes of making a smaller, simpler government, appears itself to be incapable of either.

"Excuse me sir, how would you like your oligarchy?"
